That store didn't exist. So we built it.

We're not a department store. We're not a marketplace with ten thousand listings. Every product you see here was selected because it passed a simple test: would someone with impeccable taste be proud to give this as a gift?

If the answer wasn't an immediate yes, it didn't make the cut.

The name

Urban Kay is a nod to where we come from — years spent in Brooklyn, where taste is sharp, the bar is high, and the best things are always a little hidden. The "urban" is that sensibility: modern, design-forward, confident without being loud.
